Cafe Business Plan Guide & Infographic

FormSwift's 2015 Summer Scholarship asked college students across the country to come up with a sample business plan for one of five categories: Bakery, Restaurant, Salon, Personal Training and Trucking. We chose the best sample business plan for each category, and one scholarship winner.

Ambrosia Bakery

Ambrosia Bakery's aim is to provide a warm environment where customers can buy delicious baked goods while watching scrumptious desserts be baked. The bakery understands every customer is different, and it is because of this that we will sell gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free pastries, and other goods.

The bakery will be situated in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Its location has been strategically chosen because of the high density residential developements in the area. There is also a Sky Train station very close by.

Market Analysis

With only a few bakeries around, Ambrosia bakery will stand out due to its innovative products that everyone will be able to eat and enjoy and the entertainment it will bring by showing its customers how their pastries are made.

The bakery's target demographic is families who live in the nearby neighborhoods and workers who will either drive next to the bakery or walk to the public transporation station that is located in the vicinity.

Market & Sales Plan

  • The high density residential developments in the area mean there will be more customers.
  • These new residents will spread the word about the bakery.
  • People who use the Sky Train will see the bakery on a daily basis.
  • Implementation of advertisements in all the Sky Train stations. Commuters will know there's a bakery not too far away from them.
  • Having a grand opening event where those day's earnings will go to charity. This will help the bakery be widely known.
  • Observing what gluten-free, sugar-free, and dairy-free goods have the highest demand.
