This form is used by the United States Office of Personnel Management. A Standard Form 182 is known as an Authorization, Agreement, and Certification of Training form. This form will be used to keep a record of various training activities an employee has completed. It can be used to ensure an employee meets the current qualifications needed to carry out their job duties and hold the employment position.
The first section of the form requires information about the trainee. This will be the employee who has received the training. Information including full name, address, employment information, and education level is needed. The next section will detail the training course taken. There will certain codes used to designate the type of course. The training agency’s information must also be included so that the training can be verified.Â
An SF-180 is required when training is received from an outside company or organization or from a non-USDA agency.  Some examples include: CPR training, Microsoft Access and Excel training, appropriations law training, certifying officer’s training provided by the U.S. Department of Treasury.  An SF-182 is also required for training meetings that require registration fees or travel costs.  An SF-182 is not required for statewide trainings put on by NRCS or USDA personnel, division or area wide trainings, NEDC course trainings, online, VTC or other trainings provided through AgLearn.
An SF-182 contains the following sections:Â
To complete an SF-182, you will need to provide the following information:
You should submit the SF-182 any time you are attending an external training.
Your first line supervisor should verify the training and attendance completion as soon as the employee initiates the completion verification process in LearningLink.
You should contact your agency training officer for instructions.
You should process your payment as before by printing the SF-182 from LearningLink after system approvals are completed and following your agency’s process for making vendor payments outside of LearningLink.
The next person in the approval process has the ability to modify and correct information in the SF-182.
OPM does not allow agency waivers to use an alternative training form such as DL-101.
